Heil of Norbone FFA Chapter named State FFA Vice President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Kennedy Heil was named a 2024-2025 State FFA Vice President. Heil is from the Norbone FFA Chapter. Her parents are Charles and Deborah Heil. Her advisor is Stephanie Smithson.
Heil’s Supervised Agriculture Experience is raising Red Angus beef calves on her family’s farm to be marketed and sold in the following year. She also contributes to the farm through a placement SAE where she is responsible for the mowing and upkeep of various properties. Further, Kennedy also has an agricultural communication SAE where she hosts and edits her own podcast. “The Daily Dirt” and interns at KMZU, a local radio station.
Kennedy has served as Chapter President, Vice President, and Reporter of the Norborne FFA Chapter, and is currently serving as the President of the Area 2 FFA Association.
In the FFA, Kennedy has competed in the Division II Prepared Public Speaking Contest, where she received second place at the state competition. Kennedy also placed at the state level in the Missouri Cattlemen’s Public Speaking Contest, and the Teach Ag Public Speaking Contest.
Kennedy plans to attend North Central Missouri College on an A+ Scholarship where she will receive her associate degree and then apply to a four year school to study journalism. Kennedy hopes to connect with local farmers through media and freelance writing.
The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
