Jenkins of Mount Vernon FFA Chapter named State FFA Vice President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Kade Jenkins was named a 2024-2025 State FFA Vice President. Jenkins is a member of the Mount Vernon FFA Chapter. His parents are Tyson and Melissa Jenkins. His advisors are Steven Prewitt, McKayla Berheim, and Jay Shepherd.

Jenkins’ entrepreneurship Supervised Agriculture Experience is his business Cracked Candies. Cracked Candies is a freeze-drying company that specializes in the production of freeze-dried candy. He has competed in two district-level speaking contests. He was also the area winner of the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives speaking contest in 2023. Jenkins and his team competed at the state level for Conduct of Chapter Meetings and placed 7th, as well as placing 6th at state for forestry. He won the Area Xl Food Processing Proficiency Award and won his chapter’s Star Junior award in 2022-2023.

Jenkins served as his Chapter’s Vice-President and Reporter.

In addition to FFA, Kade serves as a member and executive of National Honor Society, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Climb Academy, Spanish Club, Interact Club, football, and lacrosse. He has also planned a chapter speaking day and tour day, taking the chapter across the area to tour agriculture facilities. 

After graduating, Kade plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia and study agriculture education.. Later he plans to go on a two-year mission for his church before becoming an agriculture educator and FFA advisor.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
