COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2026 – The Hermann FFA Chapter won the agricultural mechanics career development event at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 45 teams in the competition.

The team members are Cameron Aberle, Clayton Koenigsfeld, Mason Bader, and Lance Uthlaut. Aberle placed 1st, Koenigsfeld placed 2nd, Bader placed 3rd, and Uthlaut placed 22nd out of 174 participants. Hermann FFA advisors are Ashlyn Fries, Doug Ridder and Tracy Vedder.

Teams in this event consist of four students who solve a multi-system agricultural problem scenario. The team works to solve the problem and prepare a report while judges evaluate. Additionally, individuals complete a written exam that covers five agricultural technology and mechanical areas: compact equipment, electricity, environment and natural resources, machinery and equipment and structures.

Sponsored by Sydenstricker Nobbe Partner, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
