North Shelby agronomy team wins state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2026 – The North Shelby FFA Chapter won the agronomy career development event at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 60 teams in the competition.

The team members are Cooper Belt, Dom Williams, Jayli Rosendale and Kale Pollard. Belt placed 2nd, Williams placed 3rd, Rosendale placed 9th and Pollard placed 12th out of 229 participants. The North Shelby FFA advisors are Jenny Bradley, Tim Davis, and Harold Eckler.

Individuals in this contest evaluate crop production and factors that influence the quality of seed and forage crops.

Sponsored by Past State FFA Officers, this contest is one way FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals. The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
