COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2026 — Katherine Branham of the Nevada FFA Chapter won the creed speaking leadership development event at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention. Sixteen students from six districts were selected to compete at the state level. The Nevada FFA Advisors are Joshua Mareth and Brett Neil.

Branham received a cash award from the Jerry Litton Memorial Fund of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Agricultural Education Division.

Contestants recite the FFA Creed. They then answer a series of questions based on their interpretation of the creed. A panel of judges determines each participant’s score. Participating FFA members gain self-confidence, sharpen their ability to think quickly and hone presentation skills.

Sponsored by Busdieker Farms, Inc., this event is one of many ways the FFA prepares student members for career success. LDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
