Neosho FFA poultry team wins state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2026 – The Neosho FFA Chapter won the poultry evaluation career development event at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 46 teams in the competition.

The team members are Colby Mcgehee, Lilly Lewis, Ava Hines, and Shyliah Robinson. Mcgehee placed first , Lewis placed second, Hines placed seventh, and Robinson placed 37th out of 176 participants. The Neosho FFA advisors are Cole Jackson, Kelin Kruse, John Littlefield  and Jennifer Thogmartin.

Poultry teams evaluate, identify and present their findings on live production hens, ready-to-cook turkeys, processed poultry products, cartons of eggs and broiler parts. In addition, a multiple-choice test and a problem-solving section on poultry management and production are included in the scoring.

Sponsored by Past FFA State Officers, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
