Burns of the Perryville FFA Chapter named State Vice President

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2026 – Allyson Burns of the Perryville FFA Chapter was named a 2026-2027 State FFA Vice President during the 98th Missouri FFA Convention. Her parents are Jerid and Brenda Burns. Her advisors are Emily Brown and Katelyn Burns.

Burns has a diverse Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), including educational advocacy to hands-on animal science. She manages professional social media communications for her agricultural education program while also operating a breeding rabbit operation. Additionally, she gains experience through food science placement at a local restaurant.

As an FFA member, Burns served as president, vice president and chaplain of the Perryville FFA Chapter and as the president of the Area 15 FFA Association. She participated in various leadership development events, including employment skills and the public speaking academy. At the state level, she competed in FFA creed speaking and FFA knowledge. A 2024 graduate of the Missouri Agribusiness Academy, Burns was also selected as the winner of the Area 15 Agricultural Education Proficiency Award.

In addition to FFA, Allyson serves as the executive board vice president of both the student council and the National Honor Society at Perryville High School. She has competed in varsity volleyball and track and is the co-founder of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization.

After high school, Burns plans to attend College of the Ozarks, Branson, to study nursing.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
