Cottrell of Washington FFA Chapter named state FFA vice president

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2026 – Grant Cottrell of the Washington FFA Chapter was named 2026-2027 State FFA Vice President during the 98th Missouri FFA Convention. His parents are Wally and Trina Cottrell. His advisors are Chris Dunard and Emily Kassebaum.
Cottrell owns and manages sheep as part of his supervised agricultural experience. He raises, shows and sells market lambs at his local fair. Cottrell also works on his uncle’s dairy farm, washes 18-wheelers that transport dairy products, and works at Homeyer Precision Manufacturing.
Cottrell has competed in division I prepared public speaking, advanced public speaking and the Missouri Farm Bureau Fall Prepared Public Speaking leadership development events. He also competed in the agronomy and farm management career development events. Cottrell has served as the chaplain and vice-president for two terms in the Washington FFA Chapter. Additionally, he serves as the Area XIV Association 1st Vice President and has served as the area 1st vice president.
Along with FFA, he has participated in National Honor Society and 4-H, where he shows his market lambs.
After high school, Cottrell will pursue an associate degree in precision machining technology from State Technical College of Missouri, Linn. He plans to continue his job at Homeyer Precision Manufacturing.
The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
