Samek of Bolivar FFA Chapter Named to Missouri FFA President

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2026 – During the 98th Missouri FFA Convention, Ellie Samek was named a 2026-2027 State FFA President. Her parents are John and Shelia Samek. Her advisors are Ashley Brown and Jason King. 

Samek supervised agricultural experience program includes raising Cornish Cross Broiler chickens, which she markets to local consumers. She also assists with labor on her family’s row crop and cow/calf operation. 

Samek has served as senior class president and the Area X FFA President.

Her involvement in FFA has consisted of leadership development events, career development events, and agriscience studies, where she found her true passion. Samek was selected as the area Agriscience Star winner. 

Samek has been an active member and holds leadership positions in multiple organizations. She is active in National Honor Society and student council. She has participated in Interact Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Jobs for America Graduates, and was selected as a finalist for the Missouri Youth Leadership Council. Samek is a member of the Woodlawn 4-H Club and the Polk County 4-H Council, where she serves as the president of both. She has served on the Polk County Extension Council as the Youth Liaison. She is on the Leadership team for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Vice President of Bolivar Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, the President of Dickerson Park Zoo Crew, and a member of Polk County Cattlemen’s.

This fall, Samek plans to attend the University of Missouri – Columbia to pursue a degree in agriculture education.


The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
