Thouvenel wins Agricultural Services Proficiency

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2026 – Maycee Thouvenel of Versailles won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Services Proficiency Award at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention.
Thouvenel, a 2025 graduate of Morgan County R-II, is the daughter of Garrett and Aubree Thouvenel. She is a member of the Versailles FFA Chapter. Her advisors are Morgan Looten and Justin Mauss.
For her supervised agricultural experience program, Thouvenel worked in her family’s custom harvesting business, Thouvenel Harvesting. The operation provides harvesting services for producers across multiple states, traveling more than 2,000 miles each season and harvesting approximately 15,000 acres of wheat and 8,000 acres of fall crops including corn, canola and soybeans. Her responsibilities included operating a John Deere 9770 combine, running the grain cart, assisting with grain transportation and performing routine maintenance to ensure efficient harvest operations.
Throughout her experience, Thouvenel progressed from basic support roles to operating her own combine and making key decisions related to harvest efficiency, grain quality and equipment management.
She is currently attending Kansas State University, studying agricultural communications and global food systems leadership with a focus on agricultural policy along with a minor in agricultural economics. She plans to pursue a career in agricultural policy while remaining involved in her family’s operation.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience.
