Rhine of Joplin FFA Chapter named State FFA Vice President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Jackson Rhine was named a 2024-2025 State FFA Vice President. Rhine is a member of the Joplin High School FFA Chapter. His parents are Karen Rhine, Jared Brown, and Carmen Brown. His FFA advisors are Charli Baugh and John Mareth. 

Rhine’s supervised agricultural experience program consists of a fertilizer trial, comparing a specialized, organic fertilizer with a general-purpose artificial fertilizer. Rhine also works as an entrepreneur in his family’s vegetable garden.

 Rhine has served as Chapter President, as well as Vice President. He also participated in the employment skills contest, placing 4th in his area. Additionally, Rhine was his chapter’s Star in Agriscience and has served as the Missouri Jr. Angus Association Vice President, as a member of the Missouri Jr. Cattleman’s Board of Directors, and as one of two delegates of Missouri for the United States Senate Youth Program.

In addition to FFA, Rhine is an active leader in many clubs and activities including basketball, golf, band, and orchestra. He also serves his local church as a Deacon, committee member, and volunteer.

After graduating high school Rhine plans to attend the University of Missouri- Columbia where he plans to major in Agricultural Economics. After graduating from college he plans to become actively involved in the Agriculture Industry through his own production agriculture operation, and would eventually like to work in government and agriculture policy. 

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
