Mullins of St. James FFA Chapter named State FFA Vice President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Alexis Mullins was named a 2024-2025 State FFA Vice President. Mullins is a member of the St. James FFA Chapter. Her mother is Tiffany Sydow. Her advisors are Heather Bouse and Trish Watson. 

Mullins supervised agricultural experience program is an equine entrepreneurship SAE in which she owns, trains, and shows her herd of horses. She also offers riding lessons and training services. Mullins was also selected as the Area 14 Star Farmer. 

During her FFA career, Mullins served as her chapter Historian, Secretary, and Vice President. 

Mullins competed in Division I and Advanced Prepared Public Speaking at the state level. She has participated at the state level in Poultry Evaluation, receiving a Group 1 individual rating, and in Livestock Evaluation receiving a Group 2 individual rating. 

Outside of FFA, Mullins has been active in BETA, Student Council, and National Honors Society. She also has participated in basketball and track. Mullins has been a 4-H member for 10 years and has served as the 4-H club President, Vice President, and Secretary. She is a member of the Missouri Quarter Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, and American Paint Horse Association. 

After graduating High School, Mullins plans to attend State Technical College of Missouri where she will pursue a degree in Agriculture Operations. Mullins plans to continue to expand her business in horses and Boer goats, and to pursue a career in Agricultural Education. 

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
