Mitchell of the Cassville FFA Chapter named State FFA Vice President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Langston Mitchell was named a 2024-2025 State FFA Vice President. Mitchell is a member of the Cassville FFA chapter. Her parents are Leah Thompson, Tony Mitchell and Jennifer Mitchell. Her advisors are Jordan Ellis and Hannah Denief. 

Mitchell’s supervised agricultural experience program consists of a herd of Boer goats which she raises to show and sell to the community. She participated in the Division l prepared public speaking and placed in the top three within the state. She also competed on a district level for Division ll prepared public speaking and the Missouri Farm Bureau Public Speaking Contest.

During her FFA career, Mitchell served as the Cassville FFA reporter and president. She also served the Area 11 Association as the Historian.

In high school, Langston has been elected Freshman Class President and Sophomore Class Female Representative. She has also participated in golf, speech and debate and the A+ program. 

After graduating high school, Langston plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia where she will study animal science. After graduation she plans to get certified as an animal chiropractor and return back to the farm. 

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
