COLUMBIA Mo., April 19, 2024 – During the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, Andi Belt was named the 2024-2025 State FFA President. Belt is a member of the North Shelby FFA Chapter. Her parents are Travis and Jessi Belt. Her advisors are Tim Davis, Harold Eckler, and Jenny Bradley.

Belt’s supervised agricultural experience program involves working as a farm hand at Belt Southdowns and Shropshires where she is responsible for feeding and working the sheep flock. Additionally, she owes her own Southdown sheep flock and sells direct-to-consumer lamb meat.

As an FFA member, Belt served as chapter secretary and president. She also served the Area III Association first vice president. Belt has competed on multiple nationally ranked teams including the 2021 national champion conduct of chapter meeting team, the 2022 national champion agronomy team, and the 2023 second place parliamentary procedure team. She also received two National FFA SAE Grants to expand her sheep production SAE.

In addition to FFA, Belt is involved in the National Honor Society, student council, the Principal’s Advisory Council and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was also a member of the Raider Flag Team and varsity softball and basketball for all four years of her high school career. Belt also volunteers for the Northeast District FFA Expo Board as a member of the Board of Directors.

After graduating high school, Belt plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia to pursue a degree in agriculture education with a teaching certification. After graduation, she wants to teach at a small school district close to her hometown. Belt plans on continuing her Southdown flock and offering local-produced, direct-to-consumer lamb meat to residents of Shelby County.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
