Triplett is state winner in diversified crop production placement proficiency award area

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2024 – Beau Triplett of Rutledge won the Missouri FFA Diversified Crop Production Placement Proficiency Award at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. 

Triplett, a senior at Scotland County R-1 High School, is the son of Curt and Vanessa Triplett. He is a member of the Memphis FFA Chapter. His advisor is Waltedda Blessing. 

Triplett’s supervised agricultural experience program involves him being employed at Triplett Brothers Farms. His responsibilities include hauling grain, transferring materials, operating equipment, and performing maintenance on equipment. 

As an FFA member, Triplett has participated in multiple career development events. He also has participated in Farm Bureau Leadership Day. In addition to FFA, Triplett has participated in his school’s football team, basketball team, and National Honor Society.

After graduating high school, Triplett plans to attend the University of Missouri and study plant science. He also would like to obtain a certificate in precision agriculture technology. 

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Diversified Crop Production in Placement is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
