COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2024 – Aiden Plenge of Kahoka won the Missouri FFA Diversified Crop Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. 

Plenge, a junior at Clark County R-1 High School, is the son of Matt and Chrissy Plenge. He is a member of the Clark County FFA Chapter. His advisors are Mark Lemmon and Dan Oilar. 

Plenge’s supervised agricultural experience program involves him owning and operating a corn and soybean enterprise. His responsibilities include creating and implementing conservation practices and fertility improvement strategies. 

As an FFA member, Plenge is a fiber and/or oil crop production national finalist, in addition, he has participated in leadership and career development events.  In addition to FFA, Brooks is a member of the high school concert band and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 

After graduating high school, Plenge plans to maintain and expand his fifth generation farm operation. 

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Diversified Crop Production Entrepreneurship is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Missouri Crop Improvement Association sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
