COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2024 – Emma Parrigon of Stotts City won the Missouri FFA Dairy Production Placement Proficiency Award at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. 

Parrigon, a senior at Sarcoxie R-II High School, is the daughter of Leslie and Edwina Parrigon. She is a member of the Sarcoxie FFA Chapter. Her advisors are Benjamin Fizette and Jeffery Rush.

Parrigon’s supervised agricultural experience program involves employment at her family’s third-generation dairy farm. Her responsibilities include milking the dairy cattle and monitoring animal health.

As an FFA member, Parrigon has exhibited at the Jasper County Youth Fair and the Missouri State Fair. In addition to FFA, Brooks is a member of the Sarcoxie Chiefs 4-H Club and National Honor Society.

After graduating high school, Parrigon plans to further her education in animal science and grow her family’s dairy herd. 

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Dairy Production Placement is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Midwest Dairy Association sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
