COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2024 – Ethan Zane Miller of Eldon won the Missouri FFA Beef Entrepreneurship Placement Proficiency Award at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention.
Miller, a senior at Eldon High School, is the son of Chuck and Christi Miller. He is a member of the Eldon FFA Chapter. His advisors are Alex Stichnote, Justin Asher, Nick Parks and Jacob Blank.
Miller’s supervised agricultural experience program involves owning registered cows, recipient cows, and a bull in partnership with Select Sires. His responsibilities include feeding cattle, monitoring herd health, and making breeding decisions.
As an FFA member, Miller has attended the LEAD Conference for Chapter Officers and exhibited at the Missouri State Fair. In addition to FFA, Brooks is a member of the football team and student council.
After graduating high school, Miller plans to maintain a cattle herd on the family farm and continue to improve it genetically.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Beef Production Entrepreneurship is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Missouri Cattlemen’s Association sponsored this award.
The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
