COLUMBIA, Mo., April 19, 2024—The Milan FFA Chapter won the FFA Knowledge leadership development event at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 52 teams in the competition.

Team members include Daniel Castaneda, Ethan Pearce, Jara Sanchez, and Kendra Sayre. Out of 199 participants, Sanchez placed first, Sayre tied for third, Castaneda tied for 20th, and Pearce tied for 71st. The Milan FFA advisors are Logan Fullerton and Jarred Sayre.

Knowledge teams spend hours studying for the 100-question test covering FFA history and information about the National FFA Organization.

Sponsored by the Missouri Army National Guard and Missouri Army ROTC, this contest is one of many ways the FFA prepares student members for career success. LDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
