Logan-Rogersville FFA dairy cattle team wins state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 19, 2024 – The Logan-Rogersville FFA Chapter won the dairy cattle evaluation career development event at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 60 teams in the competition.
Team members include Aleyna Farran, Sloan Zimmerman, Hallie Hill and Lily Foster. Out of 230 participants, Farran placed 10th, Zimmerman placed 14th, Hill placed 22nd, and Foster placed 63rd. The Logan-Rogersville FFA advisors are Patrick Holt and Christi Smith.
Individuals in this event are scored based on how well they apply dairy cattle evaluation skills learned in the classroom. Each team evaluates six classes of four dairy cattle and presents oral reasons on their evaluations.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
