Richmond FFA agricultural communications team wins state competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 18, 2024 – The Richmond FFA Chapter was recognized for winning the MSU State Agricultural Communications CDE, held at Missouri State University, at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention. 

Team members include Jayden Allnutt, Grace Bozarth, Kamaile Carroll and Sam Curtis. Curtis won the web design individual practicum and the team placed first in the media plan presentation. The Richmond FFA advisors are Laura Allen and Charles Foreman, Jr..

During the event, each team member competes in one of four individual contests: video production, journalistic writing, opinion writing, or web design. Every team member also participates in a writing mechanics quiz. 

Sponsored by Missouri State University Darr College of Agriculture, Agricultural Communications, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
