COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2024—The Missouri FFA Association awarded the Neosho FFA Chapter a Gold Emblem and a Top Chapter Award. Neosho placed sixth out of 362 chapters. Only 10 percent of state chapters receive a top chapter designation each year. The top chapters compete for the National FFA Chapter Award.

The National Chapter Award Program is designed to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the organization’s mission and strategies. Chapters improve operations using the National Quality Chapter Standards and a Program of Activities that emphasizes growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture. Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership. FCS Financial sponsors this award. The Neosho FFA advisors are Kelin Kruse, Cole Jackson, John Littlefield and Jennifer Thogmartin.

The Neosho FFA hosted events including Leadership Institute, where members participated in team building workshops with juniors and seniors; Floats and Flowers, where members volunteered at a local nursing home and provided flowers; and Pumpkins and Pizza, where juniors connect with the leadership team while carving pumpkins and discussing the benefits of FFA.

The top chapters in Missouri will compete for the National FFA Chapter Award. Winners will be announced this fall at the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
