Troy FFA receives Top Chapter Award

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2024—The Missouri FFA Association awarded the Troy FFA Chapter a Gold Emblem and a Top Chapter Award. Troy placed fifth out of 362 chapters. Only 10 percent of state chapters receive a top chapter designation each year. The top chapters compete for the National FFA Chapter Award. 

The National Chapter Award Program is designed to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the organization’s mission and strategies. Chapters improve operations using the National Quality Chapter Standards and a Program of Activities that emphasizes growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture. Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership. FCS Financial sponsors this award. The Troy FFA advisors are Rob Calvin, Kaylee Lower and Matthew McCrory.

The Troy FFA hosted events including Expand Your Horizons, where members networked with agricultural professionals about career opportunities; Go for the Green Garden Program, where members planted and cared for raised beds while helping to protect and preserve nature; and Punch Your Ticket to Agcocacy, where members promoted the agriculture industry by sharing production practices utilized by members via social media.

The top chapters in Missouri will compete for the National FFA Chapter Award. Winners will be announced this fall at the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis.

The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
