COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2026 – The Fair Play FFA Chapter won the dairy foods career development event at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 50 teams in the competition.
The team members are Lena Skipper, Nick Dooley, Alex Frye and Mekenzie Evans. Skipper placed 1st, Dooley placed 2nd, Frye placed 4th and Evans placed 7th out of 196 participants. The Fair Play FFA advisor is Randy Lightfoot.
The participants in the competition taste-test milk samples for flavor, identify 14 different types of cheese, and use a scoring system to test milk products according to USDA standards. The hands-on portion of the event is combined with an intensive written examination.
Sponsored by Past State FFA Officers, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
