Rider wins Forest Management and Products Proficiency

Columbia, Mo., April 17, 2026 – Hallie Rider of Belle won the Missouri FFA Forest Management and Products Proficiency award at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention.

Rider, a senior at Belle High School, is the daughter of Boone and Lindsey Rider. She is a member of the Belle FFA Chapter. Her advisors are Trent Stockton and Mareta Rider.

As a part of her supervised agriculture experience, Rider works at First Class Firewood. Some of her responsibilities include running heavy equipment and machinery to process, cut, and split wood. Additionally, Rider assists in labelling and marketing wood, keeping track of inventory, maintaining machinery, and overseeing the effectiveness of operations.

As an FFA member, Rider has participated in the Livestock Judging, Area Rituals and the Floriculture career and leadership development events.. Outside of FFA, Rider has also been a part of several extracurriculars, including FBLA, FCCLA, and Pep Club.

After graduation, Rider plans to attend the University of Missouri, pursuing a degree in plant science. Long term, Rider would like to pursue a career in biology and nursing systems, with the hope of owning her own business.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Forest Management and Products is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Missouri FFA Foundation sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
