Columbia, Mo., April 17, 2026 – Kaden Hunolt of Shelbyville won the Missouri FFA Goat Production Proficiency Award at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention.

Hunolt, a 2025 graduate from North Shelby High School, is the son of Travis and Elizabeth Hunolt. He is a member of North Shelby FFA chapter. His advisors are Harold Eckler, Jenny Bradley, and Tim Davis.

As a part of his supervised agricultural experience, Hunolt manages a breeding herd with the primary goal of improving herd quality through intentional genetic selection. Hunolt is responsible for the herd feeding and nutrition planning, health and biosecurity practices, facility maintenance, and detailed production and financial recordkeeping. Additionally, Hunolt exhibits goats at local shows, preparing extensively to ensure optimal performance in the show ring.

As an FFA member, Hunolt participated in the Conduct of Chapter,  Agricultural Technology & Mechanical Systems, National Soils, and Parliamentary Procedure leadership and career development events. Outside of FFA, Hunolt was also a part of the North Shelby Baseball team and Student Council.

Currently, Hunolt is pursuing a degree in agribusiness management at Moberly Area Community College and the University of Missouri. Long-term, Hunolt hopes to work in the agriculture industry, utilizing the skills he has developed through his SAE.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Goat Production is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Wood & Huston Bank sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
