Kable wins Grain Production Proficiency

Columbia, Mo., April 17, 2026 – Marshall Kable of Centralia won the Missouri FFA Grain Production Proficiency Award at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention.

Kable, a senior at Centralia High School, is the son of Jason and Beth Kabel. He is a member of the Centralia FFA Chapter. His advisors are Kendra Smith, Scott Stone and Rylee Williamson.

As part of his supervised agricultural experience, Kable works for H & K Farms, a diversified crop and cattle farm. Some of his responsibilities on the farm include running equipment such as a tractor and grain cart during harvest, a gravity wagon seed tender during planting, a vertical tillage tool in the fall over corn stalks, and assisting with the nutrient management program.

As an FFA member, Kable has participated in the Dairy Cattle Judging team, the Agriculture Issues team, and the Area Public Speaking. Outside of FFA, Kable is also a 10-year 4-H member as well as an active member of the Audrain County Youth Fairboard for the past 3 years.

After graduation, Kable plans to attend State Technical College of Missouri and major in diesel mechanics. Additionally, he has arrangements to work with Prater Ag Solutions, a local independent mechanic in Centralia.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Grain Production is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Missouri Corn Merchandising Council sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
