COLUMBIA, Mo., April 25, 2025 – The Missouri FFA Association awarded Dennis L. James an Honorary State FFA Degree at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.
James is a retired farmer who runs a cow-calf operation. He spent 30+ years managing agribusinesses, including: Southeast Cooperative, Coop Service Center, Madison County Farm Supply and Midwest Grain and Barge. James has served as a judge at local and district FFA competitions. He served as a Livestock Superintendent for FFA and 4-H Youth at SEMO District Fair. He served on the Sale Committee for the Youth Livestock Sale. James also participates as a buyer at Youth Sales for SEMO District Fair, East Perry County Fair, and Stoddard County Fair.
The Missouri FFA Association recognizes Honorary State FFA Degree recipients for their valuable efforts and contributions to the FFA organization and its members. Those eligible to receive the Honorary FFA Degree include farmers, school superintendents, principals, members of the board of education, chapter advisors, teachers, staff members in agricultural education, business professionals, and others who are helping to advance agricultural education and the FFA.
The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
