Curtises receives Honorary State FFA Degree

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 25, 2025 – The Missouri FFA Association named both Steve and Kathy Curtis, Honorary State FFA Degree recipients at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.

Steve and Kathy Curtis have been dedicated supporters of agricultural education and FFA for over two decades, contributing at the local, area, district, and state levels. They regularly supply cattle for livestock judging events and open their farm to FFA members for hands-on practice and training. In addition to their involvement in livestock events, Steve and Kathy frequently volunteer their time to judge speeches during practice contests, helping students strengthen their communication skills.

The Curtises are also active members of their local FFA Alumni organization, playing a key role in organizing and hosting events designed to build career readiness and leadership among FFA members. Kathy currently serves as Vice President of the local FFA Alumni Association, further demonstrating the couple’s commitment to supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders.

The Missouri FFA Association recognizes Honorary State FFA Degree recipients for their valuable efforts and contributions to the FFA organization and its members. Those eligible to receive the Honorary FFA Degree include farmers, school superintendents, principals, members of the board of education, chapter advisors, teachers, staff members in agricultural education, business professionals and others who are helping to advance agricultural education and the FFA

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
