COLUMBIA, Mo., April 25th, 2025 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Addison Rogers of the Pleasant Hope FFA Chapter as the state Star in Agriscience at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention. She is the daughter of Chris and Jullie Carlton and Jennifer Evans of Bolivar. Her advisors are Zachary Funk and David Parrack.

State Stars in Agriscience are selected based upon outstanding achievement in agriscience as part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA.

American Family Insurance sponsors the 16 Area Star in Agriscience awards and the State Star in Agriscience Award.

Roger’s supervised agricultural experience program involves agriscience research in mechanical systems, education, and biological science. Her projects have explored motor oil performance under extreme temperatures, student knowledge retention in agriculture education, and pipe durability in freezing conditions. Roger’s motor oil study earned first place at the State Agriscience Fair and placed tenth nationally. Her education-based research tested hands-on versus auditory learning in third-grade students and placed second at state. In the Power, Structure, and Technical Systems category, she investigated the freezing resistance of copper, PEX, and PVC pipes, earning another first-place state title and placing second nationally.

As an FFA member, Rogers has served as Area X Vice President, chapter President, and chapter Reporter. Outside of leadership roles, she has competed in multiple career developments and leadership development events.

In addition to FFA, Rogers is a member of Future Career and Community Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Future Teachers of America Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

After high school graduation, Rogers plans to study agriculture education.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
