Geppert wins Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2025 – Sofia Geppert won the Missouri FFA Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.

Geppert, a junior at North Callaway High School, is the daughter of Kate Geppert. She is a member of the North Callaway FFA Chapter. Her advisor is Katie Robnett.

Geppert’s supervised agricultural experience program involves owning and managing a small herd of Registered Holstein Heifers. Geppert’s responsibilities on the farm include overseeing feeding routines and ensuring proper diets for the cattle. She has also become proficient in identifying and treating sick calves and administering treatment.

Geppert aims to advocate for the dairy industry by educating the community about dairy farming through school visits and events.

Following graduation, Geppert plans to attend the University of Missouri majoring in agribusiness. She also plans to run for State FFA Office and become involved in extracurricular activities at college, such as CAFNR Student Council and CAFNR Ambassador programs. After college, Geppert aims to work in the agricultural field focusing on marketing and communications, advocating for the dairy industry.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees, or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Dairy Production is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Midwest Dairy Association sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
