Watts of El Dorado Springs FFA Chapter named state vice president

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2025 – During the 97th Missouri FFA Convention, Braden Braxton Watts was named a 2025-2026 State FFA vice president. Watt’s parents are Matthew and Jenny Watts. His advisors are Amy Green and Cameron Hargrove.
Watts’ supervised agricultural experience includes a combination of beef cattle production, market lamb operation, agricultural education, forestry sustainability, and agricultural communications. In his livestock SAE, he manages a small beef cattle operation and raises and sells market show lambs. His agricultural education SAE includes involvement in programs such as Ag Education on the Move. His forestry sustainability work is in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation to promote sustainable forestry practices. Through his communications SAE, Braxton serves as a MyFFAExperience intern, where he creates content, engages in member outreach, and highlights the diversity of FFA members and agricultural education
As an FFA member, Watts has competed in the Conduct of Chapter Meetings leadership development event, where his team placed third at the state level in 2022. He has earned silver ratings in Forestry, Entomology, Floriculture, and Division II Public Speaking. Braxton has also been a district participant in fall public speaking, competing in Forest Products in 2022 and 2023, and Soil and Water Conservation in 2024.
In addition to FFA, Watts has been a member of the National Honor Society, student council, and participant in track, band, football, and basketball.
After graduating high school, Watts plans to study wildlife biology with a conservation enforcement emphasis.
The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
