Nikodim receives distinguished service citation

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2024 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Don Nikodim with the Distinguished Service Citation at the 96th Missouri State FFA Convention. Nikodim was honored for his outstanding service to agriculture, agricultural education and the Missouri FFA Association.
Growing up on a small farm in southwest Missouri, Nikodim found his passion in the agricultural industry early. Nikodim dedicated 40 years to the Missouri Pork Association, serving as the executive director since 1983. He also served organizations including the National Pork Producers Council, National Pork Board, the University of Missouri, and other related agencies. In addition, Nikodim served as chair of Missouri Farmers Care, a joint effort to promote the growth of Missouri agriculture and rural communities.
Before his time with Missouri Pork Producers, Nikodim served local farmers as the farm management specialist for the University of Missouri Cooperative Extension Service, as the executive director for the Poland China Record Association, Inc. and as an agriculture educator. Nikodim completed his studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Nikodim and his wife, Betty, currently reside in Hallsville, Mo. In his spare time, he likes to collect and restore old farm tractors.
The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
