Fleming wins Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Placement Proficiency

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2026 – Tyler Fleming of Ashland won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Placement proficiency award at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention.
Fleming, a senior at Southern Boone High School, is the son of Jonathan and Rachel Fleming. He is a member of the Ashland FFA chapter. His advisors are Rebekah Hammett and MacKenzie Black.
Fleming’s supervised agricultural experience consists of employment at several local businesses including L.A. Nickell Golf Course, Henderson Implement and Roland Machinery. Fleming has learned wide-ranging skills in equipment maintenance and repair. He has developed skills diagnosing and repairing small engines, diesel systems and other farm equipment.
Fleming plans to attend State Technical College of Missouri in the Heavy Machinery-Diesel Technology program. He hopes to pursue full-time employment in agricultural mechanics.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Placement is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Heritage Tractor sponsored this award.
The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
