COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16,2026 – Logan Pinkham of Cleveland won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication proficiency award at the 98th Missouri FFA Convention.

Pinkham, a Belton High School graduate, is the son of Jeremy and Arianne Pinkham. He is a member of the Belton FFA chapter. His advisor is Mysti-Ane’ Pearce.

Pinkham’s supervised agricultural experience began as a beehive building enterprise, which has since grown into a broader fabrication business. Seeing a need for lowering beekeeping startup costs, Pinkham decided to manufacture his own beehive components. Growing relations with MO Hives by becoming their exclusive supplier for bee boxes and related parts. Taking pride in providing reliable, high-quality equipment Pinkham has now grown to producing boxes for multiple clients and expanding his services to include other custom design projects including an independently designed award-winning trailer.

From the very beginning of Pinkham’s SAE his dad, a skilled woodworker, taught him how to run machinery and make the bee boxes himself. This allowed Pinkham to gain the skills needed to start completing boxes and candy boards more independently which increased the productivity of his business.

Logan’s future plans include graduating from State Fair Community College, and further pursuing his education at the University of Missouri. Where he plans to major in agricultural or mechanical engineering. Logan is continuing to develop his bee box business.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication is one of 46 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Ahrens Steel and Welding Supply sponsors the award.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
