Pipkin receives distinguished service citation

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 15, 2026 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Joann Pipkin with the Distinguished Service Citation at the 98th Missouri State FFA Convention. Pipkin was honored for her outstanding service to agricultural education and the Missouri FFA Association.

Pipkin dedicated 30 years working as the Missouri FFA director of communications. As an agricultural communications professional, Pipkin worked closely with the Missouri FFA and Missouri Agricultural Education to publish the state FFA magazine. Today, Missouri FFA’s communications team produces a digital magazine, eNewsletters, an annual report and a fact sheet while maintaining an established presence on social media channels and an all-encompassing website.

Pipkin is a native of Halfway, Missouri. She graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in agricultural communications. Pipkin received the Ag Leadership Award from the Missouri Agricultural Extension Professionals as well as the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association Media Award. She also received the Honorary State FFA Degree from the Missouri FFA Association and the Honorary American FFA Degree for her service to both organizations.

Pipkin resides in Republic, Missouri, with her husband, Jim, where they now operate Clearwater Farm, a registered Angus seedstock operation.

The Missouri FFA has 27,000 members representing 369 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,042,245 members representing 9,407 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
