McDonald of Mt. Vernon FFA chapter named State Vice President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 24, 2025 – During the 97th Missouri FFA Convention, Lindsay McDonald was named 2025-2026 State FFA Vice President. McDonald is a member of the Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter. Her parents are Tabitha and Glenn McDonald. Her advisors are Steven Prewitt, Jay Shepherd, and Makayla Piotrowski.
McDonald’s supervised agricultural experience programs consist of managing a cattle and pig operation as well as teaching third-graders about agriculture. Throughout McDonald’s FFA career she has served as chapter 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer of the Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter, and as the President of the Area XI FFA Association.
McDonald won second at the state contest for Missouri Fairs and Festivals public speaking. She participated in the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives state public speaking contest as well as at state level for the FFA Knowledge and Agronomy contest where she rated Group 1 Individual in each contest. McDonald has also competed in that state Parliamentary Procedure contest and in the FFA Grasslands competition, qualifying to compete at the national level.
McDonald placed third with her swine production proficiency application in 2024 and in 2025 she placed first in Area XI with her Agriculture Education proficiency application. Within McDoanld’s chapter she has been selected as Star Greenhand, Star Farmer, and Star Junior. Throughout her high school career McDonald has participated in National Honor Society, student council, pep squad, and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. McDonald has also been a part of a variety of activities such as track and field, archery, her church’s youth program, and 4-H, where she serves as president.
McDonald’s future plans include attending College of the Ozarks to pursue a major in agriculture education. Once graduating McDonald intends on becoming an agriculture teacher and establishing her own farming operation.
The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
