Haggerman of Versailles FFA Chapter Named Missouri FFA State Secretary

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2024 – During the 97th Missouri FFA Convention, Ryatt Haggerman was named 2025-2026 State FFA Secretary. Haggerman is a member of the Versailles FFA Chapter. His parents are Patrick and Amanda Haggerman. His advisors are Justin Mauss and Morgan Looten.

Haggerman supervised agricultural experience involves working at Carpenter Gunter Lumber Company, a local lumber yard, where he serves as a product sales representative. His placement experience led to a third-place Area VIII Proficiency Award in Agricultural Sales – Placement in 2024.

In FFA, Haggerman served as chapter Vice President and was elected chapter President for two consecutive years. He also holds the position of Chaplain for the Missouri Area VIII FFA Association. His participation in career development events includes the 2024 Agricultural Sales, where he earned an Individual Group I Rating and helped his team place third overall. Haggerman was also the 2024 state runner-up in the Missouri Soil and Water Conservation District’s public speaking contest.

Haggerman has competed at the state level in Meat Evaluation and FFA Knowledge, earning bronze ratings in both events. His chapter recognized him with the Star Greenhand and Star Agribusiness-Placement awards. He is also a graduate of the 2024 Missouri HYPE Academy, a program designed to develop leadership in young agriculturalists.

Beyond FFA, Haggerman is actively involved in his school and community. He serves as Senior Class President, Treasurer of the Versailles Beta Chapter, and was selected by peers and faculty to act as the Student Representative to the school board. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and has competed in cross country, track and field, and wrestling. Haggerman also shares his passion for agriculture with younger students by teaching Missouri’s Ag Education on the Move curriculum at his local elementary school.

Following graduation, Haggerman plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University to pursue a degree in agricultural education. His future goals include returning to the Central District as an agriculture teacher and later earning a master’s degree in conservation of natural resources from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

With a strong commitment to agriculture, leadership, and education, Haggerman represents the next generation of agricultural advocates and educators in Missouri.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
