Elwell of La Monte FFA Chapter named Missouri State FFA President

COLUMBIA Mo., April 25, 2025 – During the 97th Missouri FFA Convention, Ivy Elwell was named a 2025-2026 State FFA President. Elwell is a member of the La Monte FFA chapter. Her parents are Brad and Jessie Elwell. Her advisor is Rachael Bagnell.

Elwell’s supervised agriculture experience consists of owning and operating The Crafty Camel, her personal house plant business. In addition to this, she also shows market Berkshire hogs along with Quarter horses.

She has competed in the Missouri Teach Ag Fall Public Speaking contest twice at area, and advanced to the district level once. She has also participated in the Livestock Evaluation contest. Ivy has received the National FFA SAE grant twice to develop her SAE. Elwell has also been awarded a solo in the FFA All-State Choir both her sophomore and junior year.

 

In addition to FFA, Elwell has served as Student Council President, member of the National Honor Society, choir, band, and soccer team. She has been a member of 4-H for seven years. She is also actively volunteering at the La Monte Food pantry and member of her community choirs.

After graduating high school, Elwell plans to attend State Fair Community College to receive her associate of arts transfer in education with emphasis in music or agriculture education.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
