COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2025 – Lexi Clark of Chillicothe won the Missouri FFA Veterinary Science Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.

Clark, a senior at Chillicothe High School, is the daughter of Becky Clark. She is a member of the Chillicothe FFA Chapter. Her advisors are Lance Martin, Randy Plattner, Cyrsten Sarbaugh, and Neal Wolf.

Clark’s supervised agricultural experience program involves her employment at the Chillicothe Animal Hospital in the assistance, preparation and care of small animals. She assists in preparing surgery patients, X-rays, and vaccinations when needed, as well as filling prescriptions, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the clinic.

As an FFA member, Clark has exhibited at the Missouri State Fair, and has been an active member within her FFA chapter, and her Area FFA Association. Outside of FFA, Clark has been a member of the Show Me 4-H Club, the National Junior Swine Association, and the National Technical Honor Society.

After graduation, Clark plans to attend North Central Missouri College to earn her associate degree. She then plans to transfer to Maple Woods Metropolitan Community College to be a part of their Registered Veterinary Technician program.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Veterinary Science is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Missouri FFA Foundation sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
