COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2025 – Lexi Marie Oilar of Kohoka won the Missouri FFA Poultry Production at the 97th FFA Convention.

Oilar, a junior at Clark County High School, is the daughter of Darren and Joyce Oilar. Her advisors are Mark Lemmon and Dan Oilar.

Oilar’s supervised agricultural experience program involves operating Lulabelle’s Layers. Her responsibilities at Lulabelle’s Layers are buying supplies, purchasing chickens, building and maintaining the coop, repairing fences, budgeting, collecting eggs, selling product, keeping records, advertising, renewing licenses, and most importantly caring for her livestock.

Oilar has attended the Greenhand Motivational Conference and competed in entomology.

After graduating high school, Oilar’s future plans include expanding her business and making it completely family owned and run. Her current plans after high school are to spend two years at Moberly Area Community College and start her agriculture business degree. Once she graduates from MACC in two years, she plans to transfer to a university to finish her degree. She plans on making Lulabelle’s Layers a full production to benefit her family and community.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Poultry Production is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Poultry Federation sponsored this award.
