Thouvenel wins Fiber and Oil Crop Production Proficiency Award

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2025 – Maycee Thouvenel of Versailles won the Missouri FFA Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.
Thouvenel, a senior at Versailles High School, is the daughter of Garrett and Aubree Thouvenel. She is a member of the Versailles FFA Chapter. Her advisor is Morgan Looten.
Thouvenel’s supervised agricultural experience program involves working for her parents custom harvesting operation, Thouvenel Harvesting. She harvests wheat, canola, soybeans, milo, high moisture and dry corn for farmers who do not own their own harvesting equipment. This spans across numerous states such as, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota
Thouvenel has participated in Public Speaking Institute and served as a Delegate at the Missouri FFA State Convention.
After graduating high school, Thouvenel plans include studying agriculture and natural resource communications at Kansas State University. She then plans on continuing her education while continuing her family’s custom harvesting operation.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. The Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council sponsored this award.
The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
