COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2025 – Brooklynn Hall of Eldon won the Missouri FFA Equine Science – Placement Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.

Hall, a senior at Eldon Career Center, is the daughter of Jason and Ashley Massengale. She is a member of the Keytesville FFA Chapter. Her advisors are Jacob Blank, Justin Asher and Colleen Abbott.

Hall’s supervised agricultural experience program involves observing daily behavior to help identify potential health concerns early. She is responsible for caring for horses while providing laser treatment and health advice to clients’ horses. Her daily responsibilities include feeding hay and grain, cleaning stalls, and filling water troughs.

Hall has competed in the Entomology, Dairy Cattle, and Horse Judging career development events.

After graduating high school, Hall’s plans include getting involved in massage school to then use her knowledge to apply techniques to equine. She then plans to follow in her mothers footsteps in equine health.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Equine Science – Placement is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. William Woods University Equestrian Division sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
