Herigon wins Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Placement Proficiency Award

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 – Mitchell Herigon of Boonville won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Placement Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.
Herigon, a senior at Boonslick Technical Education Center, is the son of Keith and Laura Herigon. He is a member of the Boonville FFA Chapter. His advisors are Deanna Schnuck and Doug Henke.
Herigon’s supervised agricultural experience developed over several years involving general tire maintenance, oil changes, diagnostics, repairs, service calls, and deliveries. Herigon is a Stihl Bronze Technician responsible for repairs, communicating with customers, and making deliveries.
Herigon’s future plans after graduating include attending State Fair Community College where he will pursue mechanics. He hopes to open his own business one day.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Placement is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Heritage Tractor sponsored this award.
