Vannoy wins Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 – Casey Vannoy of North Shelby won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.
Vannoy, a senior at North Shelby High School, is the son of Kevin and Deanna Vannoy. He is a member of the North Shelby FFA Chapter. His advisors are Harold Eckler, Jenny Bradley, and Tim Davis.
Vannoy’s supervised agricultural experience focuses on the repairing and reselling of a variety of different gas-powered equipment. His responsibilities within V and R Small Engines include engine diagnostics, purchasing and selling engines, as well as bookkeeping. His services are beneficial for the local farmers, property owners, and agricultural communities.
Vannoy first learned about engines from his mentor, his uncle. He was able to use what he learned from his uncle and incorporate it into his SAE.
After graduating Vannoy plans to attend State Tech where he will study mechanical diagnostics, engine repair, and business management. He intends to use his studies to further expand V and R Small Engines and hopes to make it his lifelong career.
Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Entrepreneurship is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Heritage Tractor sponsored this award.
