Kempker wins Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency Award

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 – Connor Kempker of Tuscumbia won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.

Connor, a graduate from Tuscumbia High School, is the son of Matt and Jennifer Kempker. He is a member of the Tuscumbia FFA Chapter. His advisor is Sara White.

Kempker’s supervised agricultural experience included ownership and operation of Kempker Fencing, LLC. He developed his very own business from scratch, starting with only a truck. He oversaw getting equipment, building clientele, and hiring employees. His SAE provides career opportunities for others while also supplying local consumers with highly valuable work.

Kempker saw that there was a need in his community and therefore based his SAE on said need.

Kempker’s future includes continuing to work and manage Kempker Fencing, LLC. By doing so he is able to support himself while also providing for others in his community.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Ahrens Steel and Welding Supply sponsors the award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
