COLUMBIA, Mo., April 24, 2025 – Braxton Matthew Watts of El Dorado Springs won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Communications Proficiency Award at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.

Braxton, a senior at El Dorado Springs R-2 School District, is the son of Matthew and Jenny Watts. He is a member of the El Dorado Springs FFA Chapter. His advisors are Amy Green & Cameron Hargrove.

Watts’s supervised agricultural experience includes creating videos, developing posts for social media, and producing surveys. He is responsible for representing FFA’s social media presence and broadcasting various FFA members. Through his responsibilities he is able to help further FFA’s mission for the next agricultural generation.

Working with MyFFAExperience allowed Watts to get a closer insight into the inner workings of FFA. He was able to get a behind the scenes look at how to promote a large organization.

After high school graduation, Watts intends on becoming a Missouri FFA State Officer. He also plans to attend the University of Central Missouri where he is going to study biology and conservation enforcement, with an end goal of having a career as a conservation agent.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Communications is one of 45 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Bunge sponsored this award.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
