COLUMBIA, Mo., April 23, 2025 —  Madelyn Sampson of the Kirksville FFA Chapter won the creed speaking leadership development event at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention. Sixteen students from six districts were selected to compete at the state level.

Sampson received a cash award from the Litton Memorial Fund of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Agricultural Education Division.

Contestants recite the FFA Creed. Speakers then answer a series of questions based on their interpretation of the creed. A panel of judges determines each participant’s score. Participating FFA members gain self-confidence, sharpen their ability to think quickly and hone presentation skills.

The Missouri Army National Guard, the Missouri Army ROTC and Busdieker Farms, Inc., sponsor this event.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
