COLUMBIA, Mo., April 25, 2025 – The Missouri FFA Association awarded Blaine Martin, an Honorary State FFA Degree at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.
Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor at Union Star R-II School District, has dedicated the past 14 years to shaping the next generation of agricultural leaders. A charter member of the Winston FFA Chapter, Martin served as Chapter President and earned both State and American FFA Degrees. After graduating from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in Agricultural Education—where he was active in Alpha Tau Alpha and collegiate FFA—Martin began his teaching career at Union Star High School. Since then, he has guided numerous FFA members to success, helping them earn State and American Degrees, Area Proficiency Awards, and other prestigious honors. Martin also remains actively involved at the Area, District, and State levels through the Missouri Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association.
The Missouri FFA Association recognizes Honorary State FFA Degree recipients for their valuable efforts and contributions to the FFA organization and its members. Those eligible to receive the Honorary FFA Degree include farmers, school superintendents, principals, members of the board of education, chapter advisors, teachers, staff members in agricultural education, business professionals, and others who are helping to advance agricultural education and the FFA.
The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
