COLUMBIA, Mo., April 25, 2025 – The Missouri FFA association awarded Mun Y. Choi, Ph.D. an Honorary State FFA Degree at the 97th Missouri FFA Convention.

Dr. Choi is the 24th president of the University of Missouri and chancellor of the Mizzou campus, leading the UM System’s four universities, healthcare system, research reactor and extension programs. In 2021, he launched the $1.5 billion MizzouForward initiative, which has driven record achievements in research excellence, student success, and statewide engagement. With over 30 years in higher education, Dr. Choi is nationally recognized as a leader in public research and innovation.

The Missouri FFA Association recognizes Honorary State FFA Degree recipients for their valuable efforts and contributions to the FFA organization and its members. Those eligible to receive the Honorary State FFA Degree include farmers, school superintendents, principals, business professionals, and others who are helping to advance agriculture education and the FFA.

The Missouri FFA has 26,900 members representing 365 chapters. The national organization has more than 1,027,273 members representing 9,235 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
